Questions people ask

Where do the prices come from?

Shares, ETFs and funds from Yahoo Finance, crypto from CoinGecko, gold and silver from gold-api.com, and exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API. Our servers ask for the price of a symbol, like AAPL or gold, and never say who is asking or how much you hold.

How fresh are they?

Prices refresh every hour and exchange rates twice a day. Wardi always shows when a figure was last updated. Things only you can value, like a flat or a startup stake, keep the value you last gave them until you update it.

Why is my total different from my own sums?

Usually one of three things: a holding in another currency is converted at the latest rate, a price hasn’t refreshed yet, or a hand-valued holding hasn’t been updated in a while. Open the holding to see its price, its rate and when each was taken. If it still looks wrong, email us and tell us which holding.

Does Wardi move my money or place trades?

No, never. Wardi is a tracker. It doesn’t connect to your bank or broker, never asks for their passwords, and can’t buy, sell or transfer anything.

What does Ask send, and to whom?

When you ask a question, a summary of your holdings and your question go to an AI service (Anthropic’s Claude, with DeepSeek as a fallback) to write the answer. Your name and email are not sent. Wardi asks your permission the first time, and you can withdraw it in Settings. Ask describes your money; it does not give financial advice. The details are in the privacy policy.

I signed in with a different method and my holdings are gone.

They aren’t gone. Each sign-in method (Apple, Google or email) can be a separate account, especially if you chose Apple’s “Hide My Email”. Sign out and sign back in the way you did the first time.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete account. It removes your holdings, history, questions and the account itself, right away and for good. If you can’t get into the app, email us from the address you signed in with and we’ll do it for you.

I forgot my PIN.

On the lock screen, tap “Forgot PIN?”, sign out, and sign back in the same way as before. You’ll be asked to choose a new PIN. Your holdings are kept on your account, not on the phone, so nothing is lost.
